Quiet before the storm: Is escalating Israel-Iran violence on the way? - analysis

June 07, 2024

The Iranian attack on Israel on April 13-14 involved not just Iran but also Iran’s proxies. However, in the wake of the attack, there have been two days of relative quiet in the region. In general, the Gaza front has been quiet since the IDF withdrew most of its men, leaving only one division of forces in Gaza. One must wonder what kind of effective pressure could be exerted on Hamas, Hezbollah, or other Iranian proxies that might change their behavior. Just as when things are “too quiet,” the IDF must be on high alert to the brewing of a potential major conflict.
