Fourteen Vietnamese Scientists Named in the 2023 Research.com World Rankings

Professor Nguyen Dinh Duc, from Vietnam National University, Hanoi specialized in Engineering and Technology; Nguyen Van Hieu. Associate Professor Tran Xuan Bach, from the Hanoi Medical University, and Professor Hoang Van Minh, from the Hanoi University of Public Health were ranked in Social Sciences and Public Health. VNU was the leading institution in Vietnam, with four scientists ranked worldwide in 3 fields: Engineering and Technology; Environmental Sciences; and Computer Science. (Media Center)On September 1, Research.com announced its 2023 rankings of scientists worldwide, by the number of papers published and citations, including fourteen from Vietnam compared with eleven last year. They specialized in: Engineering and Technology; Environmental Science; Computer Science; Materials Science; Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering; Public Health; and Social Sciences.

 

Professor Nguyen Dinh Duc, from Vietnam National University, Hanoi specialized in Engineering and Technology; Nguyen Van Hieu. from Phenikaa College, in Materials Science; Professor Pham Hung Viet and Associate Professor Tu Binh Minh from the VNU-Hanoi and Tran Nguyen Hai from DTU, in Environmental Sciences; and Dr. Hoang Nhat Duc, from DTU and Associate Professor Le Hoang Son from the VNU-Hanoi, in Computer Science.

This rankings were based on a detailed evaluation of 166,880 profiles on Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic Graph, divided into 24 disciplines, including: Animal Science and Veterinary; Biology and Biochemistry; Business and Management; Chemistry; Computer Science; Earth Science; Ecology and Evolution; Economics and Finance; Electronics and Electrical Engineering; Engineering and Technology; Environmental Sciences; Genetics and Molecular Biology; Immunology; Law and Political Science; Mathematics; Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering; Medicine; Microbiology and Neuroscience.

The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering discipline included Professor Nguyen Van Hung and Professor Phung Van Phuc, from the HCMC University of Technology; Associate Professor Thai Hoang Chien, from Ton Duc Thang University,

 

Associate Professor Nguyen Thoi Trung, from Van Lang University, and Associate Prof. Bui Quoc Tinh from DTU. Two foreign lecturers from Ton Duc Thang University and DTU, were also included.

 

Associate Professor Tran Xuan Bach, from the Hanoi Medical University, and Professor Hoang Van Minh, from the Hanoi University of Public Health were ranked in Social Sciences and Public Health. 

 

VNU was the leading institution in Vietnam, with four scientists ranked worldwide in 3 fields: Engineering and Technology; Environmental Sciences; and Computer Science.

 

The ranking method applied by Research.com is based on the D-index (Discipline H-index) and the number of articles by field for scientists listed in the  IEEE, ACL, Springer, AAAI, USENIX, Elsevier, ACM and LIPIcs database systems.
