What you will doBiosensing using biomolecules as recognition elements has expanded in recent years due to development of a broader range of receptors for the capture of analytes. Such novel sensors have been successfully employed in diluted biological fluids like blood, saliva, and urine. For this reason, there is a strong interest to explore the potential of molecular biosensors as biofluid sensors at OnePlanet Research Center. However, the stability and response of these elements in undiluted biological fluid are poorly understood.
We are searching for a student to construct a molecular biosensor for sensing in in vitro biological fluids and explore the advantages/disadvantages for utilizing them in future in vivo biosensors.

OnePlanet Research Center is a multidisciplinary collaboration between Wageningen University & Research (WUR), Radboud University, Radboud UMC and nano-technology world-player imec. Your work will not only be of academic relevance, but is translated to practical applications where possible.
