One PhD position is available in Prof. Zhengmao Lu's new research group, the Energy Transport Advances Laboratory (ETA-LAB) in the Institute of Mechanical Engineering at EPFL, Switzerland. Please check Prof. Lu's research portfolio on his personal website (https: // web.mit.edu/zhengmao/www/) while we are building the site for the ETA-LAB. At the ETA-LAB, we strive to obtain a deeper understanding of interfacial transport physics. We then aim to create high-performance low-carbon-emission cooling solutions leveraging the fundamental understanding to address the ever-increasing global cooling needs.
What we offer:
What we expect:
Priority will be given to candidates with experience in heat exchanger manufacture and testing. Expertise in surface chemistry characterization and/or sorbent materials will also be welcome.
Starting date: The preferred starting date is March 1, 2023 (negotiable).
How to apply: Please send your application including your CV and names of two references to [email protected] the subject line: “PhD Application to ETA-LAB Your Name”.
To be enrolled in the EPFL PhD program, the candidate also needs to apply to one of the suitable doctoral schools. We suggest the doctoral school of Energy (EDEY) or Materials Science and Engineering (EDMX). For both EDEY and EDMX, the two application deadlines each year are December 15 and April 15.
