Applications are open for 1 (one) Research Fellowship, within the framework of project/R&D institution (“Biomimetic Small Molecule Activation Routes Towards the Decomposition of Pollutants and Valorisation”, Centro de Química Estrutural/Associação do Instituto Superior Técnico para a Investigação e Desenvolvimento (IST-ID), (2022.02069.PTDC) with the financial support of FCT/MCTES (PIDDAC

Workplan: to develop new molecular catalysts capable of mimicking nitrous oxide reductase (N2OR) and methane monooxygenase (MMO) for decomposition of nitrous oxide (N2O) as well as activation of CH4 and MeOH through N2O-assisted catalysis. Characterization of catalysts and analysis of products using different analytical methods (GC, GC-TCD, GC-Ms, IR, ESI-Ms, NMR, MET).

Duration: The research fellowship(s) will have a duration of 12 months. It's expected to begin in June 2023) and is not renewable.

It is mandatory to formalize applications with the submission of the following documents: i) Curriculum Vitae ; ii) academic degree certificate; iii) proof of enrollment at a course that does not award an academic degree; iv) motivation letter; v) declaration on honour that the applicant does not exceed with this contract an accumulated period of two years in this type of studentship, continuously or with interruptions.

Benefits

Monthly maintenance allowance: According to the values for Research Fellowships awarded by FCT in Portugal (https:// www. fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores), the amount of the monthly maintenance allowance is € 1199,64, being the payment method an option of the Fellow by Wire Transfer/Check.

Selection process

Selection methods : The selection methods will be the following: Evaluation of Curriculum Vitae; specific interests/knowledge/skills about synthetic chemistry and analytical chemistry; and interview (if necessary), with the respective weight of 40 (CV): 40 (interests/specific knowledge/skills): 20 (interview).
