The Chair of Statistics at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin is looking for a doctoral student. Research topics in the working group include statistical methods for complex data such as functional data, densities, shapes, networks and images; flexible regression models; statistical methods in particular joint models for longitudinal and time-to-event data; inference for deep learning. The position is initially limited to three years with the possibility of extension.

  • Scientific research and teaching at the Chair of Statistics
  • Assignments for the own scientific qualification (PhD)
  • Requirements :

  • Completed academic degree in statistics, mathematics or a related field with statistical methodological focus
  • interest in the development of statistical methods as well as in interdisciplinary cooperation
  • good communication skills
  • very good command of written and spoken English
  • programming experience (preferably in the statistical software package R)
