Offer Description

Project title: Novel tricyclic glycomimetics as DC-SIGN receptor ligands

Description of tasks:

Synthesis and characterization of organic compounds as well as investigation of ligand-receptor binding properties using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) methods. The work will be carried out in close collaboration with other PhD students, post-docs, and other co- investigators from IOC PAS and collaborative Polish and foreign institutions.

Required competencies

Good knowledge of organic chemistry;

Experience in organic synthesis;

Ability to interpret analytical data (NMR, MS, IR);

Communicate well in English in writing and in oral and visual presentation, and be able to write reports and manuscripts for publication in scientific journals;

Strong motivation for scientific work, creativity, goal-orientation, responsibility, ability to work independently as well as in a group, excellent communication, organization, and time management skills, willingness to learn, analytical thinking, and critical problem-solving skills.

Desirable competences

Experience in the synthesis of carbohydrate derivatives and/or heterocyclic compounds, as well as familiarity with computational methods, especially molecular docking.
