Offer Description

Exposure to agricultural insecticides during the perinatal period is associated with an increased risk of autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Environmental agencies also warn of their intensive use in indoor air, particularly by pregnant women.

The project aims at deciphering whether prenatal exposure to inhaled insecticides disrupts the developmental sequence of nervous networks, leading to lasting alterations in social and cognitive behavior.

We are a consortium of neurobiologists and atmospheric chemists modeling environmental exposure to human insectides in mice. We will confront strict prenatal exposures to prolonged postnatal exposures in combination with indoor versus outdoor concentration on the onset of neurodevelopmental disorders.

The project of the PhD position is to evaluate the Offspring at behavioral, electrophysiological and molecular levels.
