We have an EngD position available in the fast evolving area of chemical plastic recycling. The EngD position is part of the Amazing project with four industrial partners, the research organization ISPT, and the University of Twente (Aramazing: sustainable aramids (ispt.eu)). The aim of this project is to build a pilot plant for the chemical recycling of aromatic polyamide (aramid) fibres.
As an EngD student you will join the design team of the pilot plant. Your focus will be on the separation and purification train.

About the departmentThe Sustainable Process Technology (SPT) group is part of the Faculty of Science and Technology, TNW, at University of Twente. We develop experimental and modelling research in the areas of biomass conversion, affinity separations, plastic recycling, water and CO2 capture and conversion. We combine our expertise in different disciplines (process design, chemistry, catalysis, modelling, engineering) to contribute to the development of sustainable chemical processes.
About the organisationThe Faculty of Science & Technology (Technische Natuurwetenschappen, TNW) engages some 700 staff members and 2000 students in education and research on the cutting edge of chemical technology, applied physics and biomedical technology. Our fields of application include sustainable energy, process technology and materials science, nanotechnology and technical medicine.
