Offer DescriptionWork Plan:
The researcher aims to: i) characterize food and biomass.
Workplace:
The work will be carried out at MEtRICs, in the Department of Chemistry of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa under the scientific guidance of Professor Ana Luisa Fernando, with NOVA.id.FCT - Association for Innovation and Development of FCT being the contracting entity.
Fellowship duration:
The fellowship will last for 3 months, starting in July 2023.

The call is open from the 18th of may to the 1st of June 2023.
Documentation to be provided at the time of application:
Applications must be formalized by sending the following documents in a single PDF file:
i) Motivation letter;
ii) Detailed Curriculum Vitae;
iii) Certificate of academic degrees and qualifications (at application stage a non-official document may be presented, which in case of selection will be replaced by the official document).
iv) The selected candidate should be enrolled in an Integrated Master Program, a Master Program or in a Training Course, or be eligible to enroll in them, having only to prove enrollment in the contracting phase.
In case of foreign academic degrees, and to guarantee the application of the principle of equal treatment to applicants with national and foreign academic degrees, it is mandatory to submit the recognition of such degrees and the conversion of the respective final grade to the Portuguese grading scale.
In the case of candidates with a bachelor's degree enrolled in a master program, the scholarship can have a maximum duration of two years. In the case of candidates enrolled in a course that does not confer an academic degree, the scholarship can have a maximum duration of one year. In any case, the scholarship can only be awarded if the candidate does not exceed, with the conclusion of the scholarship contract in question, including the renewals provided for in this notice, an accumulated period of two years, consecutive or interpolated, in this type of scholarship. This admissibility condition must be proved through the Curriculum Vitae.

Recipients profile/category:
Mandatory requirements: Candidates must have a graduation in any area of Engineering, Natural Sciences or Exact Sciences, related areas or legal equivalent, with a minimum number of 180 ECTS. The following requirements will be valued: i) Experience in performing food and biomass analyses; ii) Motivation for research and good work capacity; iii) Willingness for interdisciplinary research; iv) Good knowledge of the English language. The candidate must be enrolled in a integrated master, in a master or in a non- academic degree course integrated in an educational project of a Higher Education Institution, or be eligible to do so. The documents proving this situation or the respective recognition when they have been awarded by foreign higher education institutions, must be presented, at the latest, until the stage of contracting the scholarship, and before that they can be replaced by a declaration of honor.

Monthly maintenance allowance amount: The amount of the scholarship corresponds to € 930,98, having as reference the table of values of the scholarships awarded directly by FCT, I.P. in Portugal, with payment made monthly by bank transfer.
Eligibility criteria
Selection criteria:
The selection methods to be used and the respective weighting will be as follows:
a. Curricular assessment (grade from 1 to 20) weighting 50%;
b. Experience in the research area (score from 1 to 20) weighting 50%.
The jury may resort to conducting selection interviews with the three best- ranked candidates. In the event that the jury conducts interviews, the selection methods change, becoming the following:
a. Curricular assessment and experience in the research area (score from 1 to 20) weighting 50%;
b. Interview (score from 1 to 20) weighting 50%.
All applications will be evaluated on a scale from 0 to 20 values. Candidates who do not obtain a minimum grade of 15, as a result of the jury's evaluation according to the selection criteria, will not be hired.
Selection process
Composition of the Selection Jury: Prof.ª Ana Luisa Fernando (Jury President), Profª Maria Paula Duarte (Effective Member), Dr. Victor Souza (Effective Member), Prof.ª Margarida Gonçalves (Substitute Member) and MSc Carolina Rodrigues (Substitute Member).
Form of advertising/notification of results:
The evaluation results proposed by the jury will be notified, up to 90 days after the deadline for the submission of applications, by email, of the results proposed by the jury, with access to the minutes and the final ranking list.
After notification, candidates will have 10 working days to comment on the draft decision (prior hearing of interested parties, under the terms of the Code of Administrative Procedure). The final decision will be taken after the expiry of the prior hearing period, again notified to all candidates by e-mail. Of this final decision the candidates can file a complaint within 15 working days (to the e-mail address used for the notification), or an hierarchical appeal, within 30 working days, addressed to NOVA.ID.FCT's Board through the address [email protected].
