The University Research Priority Program (URPP) "Human Reproduction Reloaded H2R" explores the societal impacts and legal implications of human reproduction. This interdisciplinary positioned URPP brings together researchers from six faculties as well as from various disciplines from the humanities, social, medical and natural sciences. You will join a working group within this program, consisting of two senior researchers and two PhDs. We focus the on the value-related origins and the economic consequences of reproductive decisions. Both positions are located at Institute of Sociology, which is one of the leading empirically oriented institutes in Switzerland and Europe.

Your responsibilitiesAre internalized values formative for gendered educational decisions? What are the political foundations of leaky pipelines and maternal wage penalties? Our knowledge on such socially and politically pressing questions will be improved based on your research input.
You will live and work overlooking the Alps in one of the world's most livable cities, with crystal-clear waters and an intellectual environment that has fostered more than 20 Nobel Prizes in the last 100 years. Aiming at a publication-oriented PhD, we intend to shape your profile not just as an academic, but also with regard to the professional fields of policy evaluation, governance and data science. Both positions are limited to 3 years and include options for flexible working hours.
