A new report 'Nordic added value in Nordic research co-operation. Concept and practice' by Tuire Liimatainen (Centre for Nordic Studies, University of Helsinki) was published on 26 May 2023.
This report examines the concept of Nordic added value in Nordic research co-operation that is facilitated and funded by NordForsk under the Nordic Council of Ministers.
The report was launched during the 6th Nordic Challenges Conference in Oslo, May 2023.
Nordic added value is the key guiding principle of Nordic research co-operation from the implementation of research programmes to the evaluation of funding applications and monitoring of research impact. The report aims to enhance the understanding and operationalisation of the concept by examining it from both conceptual and practical perspectives.
The report concludes that there are major differences in how Nordic added value is understood, and lays out four recommendations for future use of the concept.
This report has been prepared at the Centre for Nordic Studies at the University of Helsinki. The project was funded by NordForsk as part of the research activities of the university consortium Reimagining Norden in an Evolving World (ReNEW).
