"Research shows that greenspaces have a wide-ranging impact on our physical, mental and spiritual well-being," says Tandon and School of Global Public Health researcher Rumi Chunara, the author of a recent study on greenspaces in Karachi, Pakistan, where urban vegetation is crucial to mitigate the effects of climate change. "On a daily basis, greenspaces foster social engagement, promote physical activity, improve the environment and provide us a reminder of the natural world."
