  • Your duties
  • Writing a dissertation in the area of ribosome biogenesis
  • Mutagenesis and cloning, genetic manipulation of yeast cells
  • Work with human cell lines (transfections, phenotypic tests, etc.)
  • Biochemical experiments (investigation of protein-protein and protein-RNA interactions, etc.)
  • Protein localization studies in yeast cells
  • Autonomous planning and evaluation of scientific experiments
  • Teaching courses and conducting examinations in German and English in Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Biochemistry
  • Support of students
  • Participation in organizational and administrative tasks as well as in evaluation measures
  • Your Profile
  • Completed diploma or master's degree in the field of Molecular Microbiology, Biochemistry, Food Microbiology or a comparable field
  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written German and English
  • Proven eligibility requirements for entering a PhD program that normally apply in the country where you completed your Masters education
  • Practical knowledge of cloning and genetic manipulation of yeast cells
  • Practical knowledge of fluorescence microscopy (desirable)
  • Ability to work in a team and motivation to participate in an interdisciplinary project
  • Ability to work independently and responsible
  • Benefits

    The minimum salary as stated in the collective agreement and according to the classification scheme is EUR 3.058,60 gross/month (for full-time employment). This minimum salary may be higher due to previous employment periods eligible for inclusion and other earnings and remunerations.
