The study of how cancer cells alter the glycosylation of cell surface proteins and how these modifications alter interactions between tumor cells and their environment: ECM, epithelial cells and immune system. Glycosylation is regulated by the GALA pathay. The project aims to establish whether pancreatic tumors activate GALA and whether a GALA specific treatment can improve outcomes.
The group “ Glycosylation, Cellular INterfaces and Therapies” (GLYNTHERA) is newly formed and funded by an Excellence Chair from Amidex and the ARC grant “International Leaders in Oncology”. The position will be funded at a competitive level.
