Background The project “MixoArthroPigment” aims for the mixotrophic cultivation of Spirulina ( Arthrospira platensis ) using glucose as a carbon source is an innovative proposed solution to produce low chlorophyll concentrated biomass that could be used in food industry as a high-protein supplement.
Tasks Laboratory and at farm validation trials involving Spirulina growth under specific physical and chemical parameters.
Requirements Students from the field of applied agriculture, biotechnology, microbiology, aquaculture or marine biology are specially invited to apply. The candidate should have some experience on lab work environment and with analytical methods and devices. Knowledge and experience with the handling of microalgae would definitely be preferred.
