SR-16 PhD Fellowship in “Micro-Nano-Magnetics for integrated device applications”
Contract : Full Time/Fixed Term
Project: The rapid growth of miniaturized handheld electronic devices & ‘Internet of Things-IoT' has
highlighted the issue of efficient powering and transmission at ultra-small scale. Lately, integrated micronano-magnetic devices have become core building blocks of such miniaturized/monolithic powering & transmission devices such as highly miniaturized electromagnetic transducers (magnetic-MEMS), nano- oscillators (SHNO/STNO), antenna (Magnonic, NEMS) etc. The focus of the present project will be on modelling, development and characterization of such devices, suitable nano-structured magnetic materials using patterned structures on Si/SOI in a CMOS compatible technique, while identifying & analyzing relevant exchange coupling phenomena in multi-nano-layers of patterned magnetic nano-hetero-structures.
The research of this particular position will involve elements of the following;
This is a four year PhD position. An annual student stipend of €18,500 applies for this successful candidate for this position. In addition, yearly University academic fees will paid by the Tyndall National Institute.
