ContextThe WILLOW team at Inria Paris, attached to the Computer Science Department of the Ecole Normale Supérieure, is looking for a software development engineer for robotics and human motion analysis.
The WILLOW team, recognized for its contributions in computer vision and machine learning, has been interested for three years in deploying its research on real robotic systems. The team's research activities are focused on deep learning, reinforcement learning and advanced sensor-based control of complex robotic systems, with the ambition to establish the theoretical and algorithmic foundations for fine and robust control of robot movements directly from their sensor inputs (cameras, force sensors, etc.).
As part of its research activities, the WILLOW team develops advanced software for modelling and controlling complex robotic systems, such as Pinocchio (https: // github.com/stack-of-tasks/pinocchio) for modelling and simulating complex kinematic chains, ProxSuite (https: // github.com/Simple- Robotics/proxsuite) for efficiently solving convex optimization problems, etc.
The WILLOW team now wishes to extend the application of its tools to the case of human motion analysis.
Scientific articles related to the position:
Missions: - Extension of the Pinocchio library for the analysis and reconstruction of human movement. - Integration of muscolo-skeletal models within the Pinocchio library. - Development of a graphical visualization tool for the analysis and reconstruction of human movement. - Support to the community - Deployment of tools developed within the robotic and biomechanical ecosystems.
Collaboration: The hire will collaborate with WILLOW team members and other national partners on human motion analysis and reconstruction.
Responsibilities: The person recruited will be in charge of the animation and the diffusion of the tool within the robotics and biomechanics community.
