YOUR TASKS

The Interreg North Sea Region (NSR) Program responds to many pressing issues in our region. Such is the case with the ‘Shared Multimodal Mobility for ALL' or ‘SMALL' project. Shared mobility is becoming an established solution for more sustainable transportation in the North Sea Region, reducing traffic congestion and emissions, and improving air quality and overall livability. However, 90% of today's shared mobility solutions are only used by young urban adults, in a region where one-third of the population consists of people with reduced mobility (PRM, focusing on children and families, the elderly and people with physical disabilities). The current design and establishment of shared mobility solutions exclude more than 20 million citizens in the NSR from the transition to less car-dependent lifestyles. SMALL brings together public authorities, knowledge partners, PRM associations and mobility operators to co-create, test and demonstrate new shared mobility and active travel solutions to drive the green mobility transition where no one is left behind. Ghent University is involved in this project as one of the research partners. As leader of work package 1, you will be responsible for the creation and application of new methodologies to engage PRMs in shared mobility and to understand their behavior towards the new solutions implemented by the consortium. You will create a practical guide to support pilot partners in their engagement process with PRM. This will include 3 separate sets of guidelines for each target group (children and families, elderly, physically disabled). In addition, you will lead the creation of quantitative and qualitative methodologies for the evaluation of SMALL pilots, including data collection, analysis, storage and management and transferability.
