    INEGI-Instituto de Ciência e Inovação em Engenharia Mecânica e Engenharia Industrial announces the open call for two Research Scholarship for a student within the framework of the project Glartek Retrofit Sensors funded by ANI - Agência Nacional de Inovação, S.A, under the following conditions:

    Scientific area: Mechanical Engineering

    Work Plan title:

    Grant 1 – Hardware for status monitoring module

    Grant 2 – Communication subsystem for monitoring sensors

    1. Grant duration and regime:

    Duration of 3 months, expected starting in December and may be renewed. The granting of the scholarships does not generate or entitle a legal-labor relationship, it is exercised under an exclusive dedication regime and the Scholarship holder is granted the Scholarship Holder Status, in accordance with the Regulation for Research Grants of the Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P., both in their current wording.

    2. Work plan:

    Scholarship 1:

  • Development and optimization of hardware for voltage and current acquisition in induction motors;
  • IoT network protocols;
  • Testing and validation;
  • Report writing.
  • Scholarship 2:

  • Software development for filtering and data sending to the Cloud ;
  • Software development to connect microcontrollers to the IoT network;
  • Report writing.
  • 3. Scientific supervision:

    4. Academic Qualifications:

    Students in Mechanical Engineering with minimum grade of 13.

  • Degree in mechanical engineering;
  • Knowledge of monitoring and/or comunication systems design;
  • Good level of Portuguese and English language skills (both writing and speaking);
  • Skills to work in team and individually.
  • Applicants with foreign academic degrees are required to submit the records of recognition of such degrees issued by a Portuguese public higher education establishment (regime governed by Decree-Law No. 66/2018, of 16 August, and Portaria No. 33/2019, of 25 January).     5. Monthly allowance:

    The scholarship amount corresponds to €875,98 according to FCT (https: // www., I.P. monthly maintenance stipend table for scholarships in Portugal (Annex I - of FCT IP Research Scholarship Regulation, integrating the 1% update under the terms of article 236 of Law nº2 / 2020 of March 31 (State Budget for 2020). The scholarship payment will be made by bank transfer.

    6. Other benefits:

    Voluntary Social Security reimbursement, corresponding to the 1st level of the contributory base (for scholarships lasting 6 months or more); Personal Accident Insurance.

    8. Evaluation criteria:

    The selection method will be a curricular evaluation according to the selection criteria. The final assessment is calculated based with the following weights: academic qualifications (40%) and interview (60%). The selection criteria are as follows: scientific merit, qualifications, suitability between the candidate's profile and the objectives of the fellowship, motivation and experience in the subject of the work program. The jury reserves the right not to fill the position, if there are no candidates that meet the requirements.

    10. Publication/notification of results:
