  • The candidate will be in charge of the synthesis of the following systems. These systems will be characterized by diffusion and imaging techniques. They will then be tested by the CTP in view of their integration in photonic crystal devices

    The research work will focus on the self-assembly of bio-based copolymers with controlled architectures for the design of colored structural materials. These copolymers present interesting properties due to their density, their low entanglement and their ability to self-assemble rapidly into highly ordered nanostructures to obtain a lamellar organization with spaces between the domains of a few hundred nm, which leads to colored materials (biosourced photonic crystals) From an experimental point of view, the original self-assembly properties of these copolymers (obtained by "click" chemistry) will be highlighted thanks to radiation scattering techniques (light and synchrotron) correlated with imaging techniques (TEM, SEM and AFM). This research project is in line with the important themes of CERMAV and is developed within the team "Self-assembly and physical chemistry of glycopolymers".     Eligibility criteria

    PhD Thesis in physical chemistry of polymers - The candidate must have a PhD in materials science, nanoscience or polymers with ideally some knowledge in copolymer chemistry. Previous experience in the preparation and physicochemical characterization of self-assembled copolymer-based structures would be appreciated. One to four years experience desired
