The person recruited will be responsible for studying the fate of the metal species used in the catalytic reaction as well as its recyclability. At the same time, she/he will be in charge of the design and synthesis of new catalytic species that she/he will evaluate in the targeted reaction.
The study is part of an R&D project involving the Institute of Molecular Chemistry of the University of Burgundy (ICMUB-UMR CNRS 6302, Team P. Le Gendre) and the SNF company. Its objective is i)- to optimize the conditions allowing the reuse of a tin-based catalyst in a high-tonnage transesterification reaction operated by the SNF company and ii)- to develop new catalysts which can be recycled and with a low environmental impact, through the use of abundant and eco-compatible metals. These new catalysts should be easy to transpose to the processes and facilities currently used by SNF.
The Institute of Molecular Chemistry of the University of Burgundy, located in Dijon (21), is a research unit supported by the CNRS (ICMUB UMR 6302). It is the main player in molecular chemistry research in the Bourgogne-Franche Comté region. SNF is a private specialty chemicals company based in Rhône-Alpes in Andrézieux (42). It specializes in the field of acrylic, allyl and vinyl monomers, and is the world leader in the manufacture and processing of water- soluble polymers (polyacrylamides). The activity will be exercised by periods with the two partners: at ICMUB (synthesis and study of catalysts) and at the SNF company (catalytic tests).Eligibility criteria
The Post-Doc researcher will hold a doctorate in Molecular Chemistry. He/she will have skills in organometallic chemistry, coordination chemistry and catalysis. Analytical technical skills, including NMR and chromatography, are also required. English speaking and writing is essential. A post-doctoral experience is required.Web site for additional job details
