starting as soon as possible. The position is limited until December 31, 2024. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz-WissZeitVG). Balancing family and career is an important issue. Aufgabenbeschreibung:As the Research Coordinator of the Center for Humane Technology, you will coordinate scientific collaboration and content development. Your tasks will include: 1) 30% department development and international exchanges 2) 20% coordination between divisions, conceptualization, and organization of workshops/ conferences/ etc. 3) 20% content development and strategy/ grant projects 4) 30% research (data collection and on design practices and strategies) With regard to the organization, the coordinator establishes the link between doctoral candidates, principal investigators, the board and the advisory board and realizes regular and goal-oriented interdisciplinary exchange formats internally and externally. With regard to the content-related work, you will implement the strategic orientation of the department and provide regular input for its further development. Furthermore, you will provide data for the evaluation of the department. In addition, you actively collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Navigators to initiate new projects from the schools and integrate them into the existing or to be expanded research structure. Moreover, you will bundle results from the department's research projects to place them in the context of the larger research framework and thus centrally contribute to the development of an overarching research compendium. Also, you will coordinate the department's extensive international exchange program in terms of organization and content. This position would be suitable for researchers interested in doing research work that utilizes the data from the activities at the center examining design-research as a field.
Erwartete Qualifikationen:A university degree, at least a research oriented Masters, preferably a PhD in fields such as Design Studies, History of Science, Science Technology Studies, Media Studies or other research fields like Engineering and Design as well as Humanities and Social Sciences. Applicants with relevant experience in project management and conducting research projects are preferred. We also have an interest in candidates with any relevant experience in the design of systems and organizations, research in the field of human-machine interaction, or work on environmental studies, design, or architecture. Candidates should have a strong interest in the field of science communication and interdisciplinary collaboration processes. You should have excellent oral and written communication skills in English and good German language skills. The ability to work in a team, organizational talent, as well as high motivation and initiative, are indispensable prerequisites for the success of the department.
