The Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) is a materials research organization in Germany. Our mission is to ensure safety in technology and chemistry. Your responsibilities include:

Scientific processing of the BMWK project "Permeability of glass-fiber-polymer composites for hydrogen storage”:

  • Hydrogen permeation measurements on glasses with evolved gas analysis
  • Design of techniques for the H2 permeation measurement of glass and glass-polymer composites
  • Melting and preparation of glass samples and measurements of glass properties: elastic moduli, hydrolytic resistance, density
  • Thermo-mechanical characterization of polymers with DMA
  • Concept design for glass-polymer composite hydrogen tanks
  • Reporting, lecturing, and publishing (German and English)
  • Doctorate opportunity
  • Your qualifications:
  • Completed scientific university studies (diploma/ master's degree) in the field of materials or materials science.
  • Advanced knowledge of oxide glasses and polymers is required
  • Design and experimental skills
  • Careful and diligent way of working
  • Very good knowledge of English and German
  • Good communication and information behaviour, goal-oriented and structured way of working, initiative/commitment; ability to work in a team and willingness to cooperate as well as flexibility
