    The Rese­arch Trai­ning Group “Mine­ral-bonded com­po­si­tes for enhan­ced

    struc­tu­ral impact safety” (GRK 2250), fun­ded by the Ger­man Rese­arch Foun­da­tion (DFG), offers a posi­tion as

    Rese­arch Asso­ciate / PhD stu­dent (m/f/x) on the topic of Ana­ly­sis and Eva­lua­tion of the Sustai­na­bi­lity Nexus of Rein­force­ment Mea­su­res with New Com­po­site Mate­ri­als (sub­ject to per­so­nal qua­li­fi­ca­tion employees are remu­ne­ra­ted accord­ing to salary group E 13 TV-L)

    star­ting as soon as pos­si­ble. The posi­tion is limi­ted until April 30, 2026, sub­ject to resour­ces being avail­able. The period of employ­ment is gover­ned by the Fixed Term Rese­arch Con­tracts Act (Wis­sen­schafts­zeit­ver­trags­ge­setz-WissZeitVG). The posi­tion aims at obtai­ning fur­ther aca­de­mic qua­li­fi­ca­tion (e.g. PhD).

    Working field:
  • inde­pen­dent and coope­ra­tive qua­li­fi­ca­tion, as well as tech­ni­cal trai­ning on Sustai­na­bi­lity Assess­ment (SA), Life Cycle Assess­ment (LCA), Life Cycle Cos­ting (LCC), Social Life Cycle Assess­ment (S-LCA), and resi­li­ence in the built envi­ron­ment through a com­bi­na­tion of inde­pen­dent and coope­ra­tive lear­ning approa­ches and lite­ra­ture review
  • con­tri­bute to the advan­ce­ment of the Resource Nexus from the per­spec­tive of the doc­to­ral pro­ject
  • working in col­la­bo­ra­tion with other GRK pro­ject's mem­bers (fel­low stu­dents and super­vi­sing pro­fes­sors) as well as col­leagues at UNU- FLO­RES and wit­hin the UN Sys­tem
  • imple­men­ting the plan­ned rese­arch pro­gram; eva­lua­ting and inter­pre­ting the results; trans­fer­ring the fin­dings to a GRK inter­nal exchange plat­form; ela­bo­ra­ting and pre­sen­ting the state- of-the-art in various rese­arch areas
  • par­ti­ci­pa­ting in lec­tures, work­shops, and sum­mer schools accord­ing to the gui­de­li­nes of the GRK cur­ri­cu­lum
  • sup­por­ting sci­en­ti­fic gra­dua­tion work (Bache­lor/Mas­ter/Diploma) in the sub­ject-spe­ci­fic rese­arch field
  • regu­lar repor­ting on rese­arch pro­gress to the super­vi­sing pro­fes­sors
  • publi­shing the results of the rese­arch work both indi­vi­dually and in col­la­bo­ra­tion with others
  • coope­ra­tive main­ten­ance of data-sharing plat­forms (data­base, infor­ma­tio­nal web pages, etc.)
  • sum­ma­ri­zing the results of the PhD pro­ject in a dis­ser­ta­tion wit­hin the due time of 3 years.
  • Requirements:
  • very good uni­ver­sity degree in one or more of the fol­lo­wing areas: busi­ness admi­nis­tra­tion, eco­no­mics, engi­nee­ring (in par­ti­cu­lar, civil/struc­tu­ral), sustai­na­bi­lity stu­dies and envi­ron­men­tal sci­en­ces
  • expe­ri­ence in two or more of the fol­lo­wing: sustai­na­bi­lity assess­ment metho­do­lo­gies, resi­li­ence eva­lua­tion, cemen­ti­tious com­po­si­tes, and struc­tu­ral impact safety
  • strong inter­di­sci­pli­nary desire to learn and wil­ling­ness to coope­rate
  • very good ver­bal and writ­ten Eng­lish com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills
  • unwa­vering deter­mi­na­tion to sub­mit the dis­ser­ta­tion after 3 years of rese­arch.
