Tasks: We seek applications for a position in Quantum Technologies for the theoretical and experimental realization of Quantum key Distribution protocols for future 6G industrial networks. Low latency will be a critical key performance indicator (KPI) in future 6G communication networks. Moreover, the role of QKD will be pivotal to achieve efficient security in the industrial network with Mobile Edge Computing (MEC). In this context, the seamless integration of quantum communications and 6G industrial networks will be an important step to achieve the KPIs. You will deal with the network functionalities, protocols, and interfaces with link and upper layers. When more than three nodes are necessary in the communication, networking aspects become crucial. This means P3 will design and realise routing procedures, congestion control mechanisms and cross-layer functionalities to ensure the efficient and effective quantum key distribution.

Requirements: university degree (Diploma/Master) in electrical or electronic engineering, telecommunications engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or equivalent. Candidates should be proficient in English and have good oral and written communication skills. Strong programming skills are highly recommended. Knowledge of quantum mechanics and focus on experimental physics can be a plus. TUD strives to employ more women in academia and research. We therefore expressly encourage women to apply. The University is a certified family- friendly university and offers a Dual Career Service. We welcome applications from candidates with disabilities. If multiple candidates prove to be equally qualified, those with disabilities or with equivalent status pursuant to the German Social Code IX (SGB IX) will receive priority for employment.
