The Communication Networks research group at TU Darmstadt explores concepts and methods for computer network protocols in a wide range of application fields. From high-performance network components at the boundary between hardware and software to questions of systems security, from wireless networks on earth and in space to Internet backbone architectures, from transponder location tracking to the protected exchange of medical data – whenever network use cases come with out-of-the ordinary requirements, we feel at home and our research interest is sparked.

For our team we are looking for one or more new members as

Research Assistants/PhD Students (all genders)

with fixed-term contracts for an initial duration up to three years.

  • research and independent development of new scientific ideas and novel methods in a to-be-agreed area in the field of communication networks,
  • presentation of research results in the form of scientific publications and lectures,
  • collaboration in teaching,
  • administrative duties for the research group.
  • Requirements...

  • excellent university degree (MSc in computer science, information technology or a related discipline),
  • strong interest in scientific work,
  • very good knowledge of computer network protocols on layers 2–7, distributed systems and IT security,
  • ability and interest to collaborate in an international research team,
  • very good knowledge of English and German, both written and spoken.
  • Opportunity for further qualification (doctoral dissertation) is given. The fulfillment of the duties likewise enables the scientific qualifications of the candidate.

    The Technische Universität Darmstadt intends to increase the number of female employees and encourages female candidates to apply.
