Offer Description

COMPETITION OPENING DATE MAY 18, 2023

Full-time position based on a contract of employment in the project Open cavities for quantum emitters in the visible spectral range” financed by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange. The main task includes developing emitters based on two-dimensional materials, defect centers, and quantum dots and an open cavity platform for these emitters operating in the visible spectral range.

We aim to understand the fundamental physical properties of the emitters, their functionalization via cavity coupling, and subsequent coherent-nonlinear spectroscopic analysis of the suitability of such a system for implementation in the emerging quantum technologies.

The candidate will work in a recently constructed complex of well-equipped laboratories. Optical experiments will be carried out mainly in the Laboratory of Ultrafast Magnetospectroscopy (LUMS) localized in the main Physics Department building, while cleanroom processing will take place in the newly established cleanrooms in the Centre of New Technologies of the University of Warsaw, located just next to the main Physics Department building.

Main task of the candidate will be to develop and research both the emitters and cavities enhancing the emission of those emitters.

The candidate will prepare samples and conduct research on open tunable cavities with a small mode volume containing quantum emitters. He will use cryogenic techniques, ultrafast lasers and single photon detectors with high temporal resolution.

The candidates have to conform to the conditions stated in art. 113 of Higher Education Law dated 20.07.2018. (Journal of Laws of the Republic of Poland 2022, item 574)
