The Institute for Technical Thermodynamics in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at TU Darmstadt invites applications for a
Research Assistant/PhD Student position (all genders)initially for a term of 3 years.
We are looking for a staff member with a university degree (Master) in Mechanical Engineering or Process Engineering with a focus on fluid mechanics and heat and mass transfer. Experience in application of theoretical and numerical methods is expected.
The research assistant will work on the topic „Numerical investigation of multi-component film evaporation and the formation of deposits” in the framework of subproject B01 within the Collaborative Research Center “Turbulent, chemically reactive, multi-phase flows near walls”:
The tasks include the further development of existing mathematical and numerical models for the description of hydrodynamics, heat transfer, chemical reactions and deposit formation during evaporation of films and drops on surfaces, the performance of simulations as well as the analysis and presentation/documentation of the results.
The Institute for Technical Thermodynamics is excellently equipped and has many years of experience in the relevant research areas. The staff members work in an internationally established and well connected team and can present their results at international conferences and publish them in professional journals.
Opportunity for further qualification (doctoral dissertation) is given. The fulfillment of the duties likewise enables the scientific qualifications of the candidate.
