The Chair of Computational Modeling and Simulation (CMS) at the Technical University of Munich invites applications for the position of a Research Assistant (m/f/d) for performing research in the field of machine learning for predictive BIM modelling. The candidate has the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree (Ph.D.). Remuneration is 100% TVL E13 according to the German public sector rates.
The Chair of Computational Modeling and Simulation is part of the TUM School of Engineering and Design. Our teaching and research focus lies on computer- based development of engineering products, particularly on the planning and realization of built facilities using computational modeling and simulation tools.
Research topics include geometric modeling of engineering products, methods of geometric analysis, methods of Building Information Modeling, modeling and simulation of construction processes, and the application of AI methods in engineering.
Description:
Currently, a broad adoption of BIM and model-based design is underway in all sectors of the construction industry. A major limitation is the high effort required for manually creating BIM models. The research project will thus investigate ways to automate processing by applying AI methods.
