YOUR TASKS

- You will be working in the Laboratory of Functional Plant Biology, which is an internationally renowned, dynamic research group, active in the field of ethylene/plant hormone physiology and vitamins/biofortification in higher plants. We are looking for an enthusiastic scientist with excellent laboratory skills, who functions well in a team. - In the frame of the biofortification of crop plants, your task will be to characterize thiamine transporters of Arabidopsis and rice.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- You hold a thesis-based doctorate in Science (Biology, Biotechnology, or Biochemistry), or in Applied Biological Sciences, or an equivalent degree. - You have already conducted research within the field of metabolic engineering (expertise in vitamin biology is a great asset). - You have distinguished yourself as a promising researcher in your doctoral research. - You have experience in leading research activities which resulted in Master theses in the field of Molecular Plant Physiology/Metabolic Engineering; - You can present relevant scientific publications in (inter)national peer- reviewed academic journals that are widely disseminated. - Communications and presentations at national and international conferences, as well as research experience in a country different from the country of origin, are considered assets.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU - We offer you a contract of definite duration for the period of 6 months. - Your contract will start on 1/01/2023 at the earliest. - Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale PD1 to PD4 ( you hold a doctorate).
