Offer DescriptionThe Institute of Mathematics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IM CAS) is seeking a researcher for the Praemium Academiae project “Fluid-structure interaction problems: mathematical analysis and applications” coordinated by professor Šárka Nečasová and funded by the Czech Academy of Sciences. No teaching is involved.

Skills/Qualifications
We invite applications from candidates who have completed their PhD degree in Mathematics within the last 5 years or will complete their PhD before December 2023. Applicants should have a good background in the theory of partial differential equations and mathematical analysis of fluid mechanics. Knowledge of the modern theory of partial differential equations, strong and weak solutions, and Sobolev spaces is necessary. Some experience with modeling fluid-structure interaction is welcome.
We require verbal and written English communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
The successful applicant will be based at the Institute of Mathematics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague, and perform mathematical research in the areas of the project. He/she is also expected to take part in activities of the Department of Evolution Differential Equations such as seminars and workshops organized by the group. No teaching is involved.

The Academy offers the kindergarden for employees' children from 1 to 5 years old. Affordable accommodation is available in the building of the Institute for the first 3-6 months.
