Offer Description

Polycyclic aromatic compounds are ubiquitous motifs in a wide variety of fields. Direct access to these highly functionalized compounds via mild, sustainable and energy-efficient conditions remains a major challenge in organic synthesis. The mission of the CDD is to develop a new approach for the synthesis of polyaromatic compounds from variously substituted arynes generated under high pressure.

Development of methodologies for the synthesis of polyaromatic compounds under high pressure: Experimental work Purification and characterisation of compounds (NMR, HPLC, etc.) Scientific and technical bibliography Writing of scientific reports and research publications Regular oral presentations

The research work will take place in the MESOO team's laboratory at the COBRA UMR CNRS 6014 unit (Université de Rouen Normandie/INSA de Rouen Normandie/CNRS) located in the IRCOF building on the Mont-Saint-Aignan site (website https:// www. lab-cobra.fr/) from November 2023. He/she will have access to all the team's and UMR's characterisation equipment.

Additional Information

Eligibility criteria

The candidate should have a Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry with extensive experience in organic synthesis and master purification and characterisation techniques. The candidate should be creative, experienced and highly motivated with very good communication skills in French and/or English
