Offer Description

The recruited person will be integrated into the U nité de C atalyse et C himie du S olide (UCCS, CNRS UMR 8181) located at the Jean Perrin Faculty of Sciences in Lens. The laboratory has expertise in the development of nanomaterials for the energy field. The recruitment is carried out as part of obtaining funding from the GREEEN project (Hydrogen Fuel Generation using Perovskite Electrodes as Photoanodes) within the framework of the CPER MANIFEST project and in partnership with the L aboratoire de P hysique de la M atière C ondensée (LPMC) in Amiens. This project falls within the research theme of materials for converting light energy into chemical energy through hydrogen production. The feasibility of this technology has been widely demonstrated using semiconductors such as TiO2 combined with noble metals (Au, Pt, Ag) to produce green hydrogen through the water splitting process. However, most catalysts suffer from their intrinsic limitation of light absorption, where only a portion of the absorbed energy can be used to catalyze the hydrogen production reaction. The main objective is the development of new photoanodes based on ferroelectric perovskites, which will benefit from both their ability to create electron- hole pairs at appropriate energy levels and their spontaneous polarization due to their ferroelectric properties to increase production efficiency.
