  • The successful candidate will be expected to : - participate in the design of the project, - use and develop new methodologies, - carry out the experiments, - analyse and communicate the results, - write reports and research papers. The candidate will use a wide range of approaches, including microfluidics for the manipulation of fluorescent actin filaments.

A post-doctoral position (12 months renewable) is open in the team "Regulation of actin assembly dynamics" at the Institut Jacques Monod (UMR7592 CNRS/Université Paris Cité, Paris, France - https: // www. ijm.fr/858/equipes/regulation-assemblage-actine.htm) to work on a project on the impact of a protein that binds specifically to actin filaments and modifies their biochemical and mechanical properties. This project is part of the team's general interest in understanding how actin regulatory proteins allow the construction of actin networks with varied architectures and dynamics. The team is developing quantitative in vitro approaches, combining fluorescence microscopy, microfluidics, optical tweezers and micropatterning.

    Eligibility criteria

The candidate must hold a PhD in biology or soft matter physics with a strong interest in biology/biochemistry. The candidate must be able to work independently in a collaborative project with teams outside the institute, interact with team members, have the ability to lead a project, and have a good level of scientific English (French is not mandatory).
