  • - Organic synthesis: chemoselective post-modification reactions of recombinant polypeptides - Chemical (NMR, mass spectrometry, chromatography) and physico-chemical (turbidimetry, rheology) analyses - Drafting of analytical data sheets - Writing of reports Secondary tasks - Participation in the team's responsibilities and common tasks

The person recruited will work on the chemoselective modifications of recombinant elastin polypeptides (ELPs) as part of the European project “Force Repair”. He/She will provide the project partners with batches of characterized ELPs bioconjugates. He/She will provide analytical data sheets and write reports in English. He/She will integrate the LCPO team 3 and contribute to the common tasks. She may be required to supervise interns (2-6 months). He/She will make presentations in English of the results of his/her research project.

The Laboratory of Chemistry of Organic Polymers (LCPO) is a joint research unit affiliated to the CNRS, the University of Bordeaux and the Institut Polytechnique de Bordeaux (https:// www. lcpo.fr). The LCPO is organized into 4 research teams with a total strength of nearly 150 people, including about 50 permanent staff.

With over 30 years of expertise in polymer chemistry, researches at LCPO aim at: - developing innovative methodologies for precision synthesis of polymers, using in particular biomimetic and/or green chemistry pathways - designing functional polymer materials by macromolecular engineering and self-assembly, in the fields of renewable materials, health and energy - establishing strong links with the socio-economy world. The work of the recruited agent will be carried out within the LCPO team 3 and in collaboration with various academic and industrial partners in the framework of the European Force Repair project. Team 3 entitled "Self-assembly of Polymers and Life Sciences" is headed by Sébastien Lecommandoux. The team explores the design biomimetic and biofuntional nano and microparticles, especially polymersomes, with the following main focus: - synthesis and self-assembly of block copolymers based on polypeptides, polysaccharides and proteins - formulation of functional nanoparticles, including polymersomes, for the targeted delivery and controlled release of active ingredients (therapy and theranostic) - design of artificial cells (protocells) as membrane models and biological factory.

    Eligibility criteria

    - Organic synthesis and/or bioconjugation chemistry - Chemical analysis techniques (NMR, MS, HPLC, SEC) - Fluent English (oral and written)
