ContextWe are looking for a post-doctoral researcher to work on the CANofGAS Inria Exploratory Action led by Beniamino Accattoli (PARTOUT team, Inria Saclay) and Guilhem Jaber (Gallinette team, Inria Rennes).
This project aims at using the advances on reasonable cost models to develop a cost-based understanding of game semantics.
AssignmentCall-by-need is a form of optimized evaluation of higher-order programs at the core of both the Haskell programming language and the Coq proof assistant, and which fits well into the theory of higher-order cost analyses. It lacks however a games semantics, which we would like to develop. In particular, capturing the optimized aspect of call-by-need via games might shed light on how games capture efficiency, or can be made more efficient.
