Offer Description

The Ecole pratique des hautes études (EPHE), is a public higher education institution of training and research both in the humanities and social sciences and basic and applied sciences founded in 1868. The EPHE is part of all national (National Plan for Open Science, PNSO) and international initiatives for ‘Open Science' (Science ouverte); it features dozens of open access collections, including scientific journals, open archives, a digital library, a monumental Documentary Centre, and a Digital humanities centre (Dir. A.-M.Turcan-Verkerk). It has a specific research support office (MsPro), that accompanies young researchers in preparing and submitting projects for national (AMUE, ANR) as well as European research grants (MSCA, ERC, Horizon). The Campus Condorcet, the brand new seat of the École, reunites more than 100 research units in the humanities, and 4.800 PhD students. It is equipped with laboratories of excellence (Laboratoires d'excellence, Labex) and special research equipments (Équipex). I will be granted an office space in the Campus, and I will be able to access not only the monumental on site library (open 24/7), but also the prestigious libraries in Paris city centre: École Normale Superiéure (Ulm), Sorbonne-Panthéon, Bibliothèque Nationale de France. The EPHE is part of the PLS (Sciences&Lettres) Network, a University Consortium composed of top-level universities (incl. Collège de France, École nationale supérieure), supported by the CNRS, and promoting collaborations and exchanges across different disciplinary sectors. As a member of the PLS, I will be able to count on the Euraxess Office (PLS Welcome Desk, Dir. M.Gray), which offers continuous support to international researchers for research-related activities: practical relocation arrangements, accommodation and social security, administrative procedures, integration and networking.
