  • Scientific Activities - Synthesis and purification of glass targets - PVD deposition (sputtering) of chalcogenide thin films - Characterization of chemical and optical properties of glasses and thin films (SEM, EDS, AFM, profilometry, transmission and reflection, refractive index by m-Lines and ellipsometry, XPS, Raman, IR ...) - Fabrication of amorphous chalcogenide photonic circuits - IR injection in PICs, fabricated by RIE etching, estimation of optical losses in the mid-infrared - Development of IR sensors - Evaluation of sensor performance - Detection of polluting molecules using the realized IR optical sensors. - Participation in the supervision of doctoral students on various subjects related to photonics (Sensor, Rare Earth Luminescence, ONL, Brillouin Effect...) - Optical/photonic instrumentation

    Coordination and Administration of the project - Assist the scientific coordinator in supervising the implementation of the project and the follow-up of the work plan - Prepare the consortium meetings and prepare the minutes - Act as an intermediary between the European Commission and the consortium - To assist the partners on the administrative aspects of the project, to control the application of the administrative rules and procedures specific to Horizon Europe; - Follow the production of deliverables and participate in the drafting of activity reports. - Monitor expenses (breakdown and transfer of funds, updating and monitoring of the budget, summary budget, internal financial summaries, etc.) in close collaboration with the CNRS Regional Delegation, in compliance with the deadlines specified by the European Commission

    The candidate's main mission will be to follow the scientific progress of the European IBAIA project in its entirety and more specifically on the photonics and materials science aspect and to participate experimentally in the development of photonic sensors in the infrared range. Placed alongside the scientific manager, the candidate will assist the latter in the coordination of the project. He/she will participate in the animation of the consortium and facilitate its general functioning in accordance with the terms of the grant agreement and the consortium agreement. In addition to the post-doctoral/researcher functions which represent the strongest component of this position, these functions also cover a set of missions related to the organizational, administrative, financial and legal management of a European project. He/she will follow a specific training at the CNRS allowing him/her to adapt to his/her new position of researcher and manager of a European project.

    Eligibility criteria

    Very good written and spoken English Skills: PhD in physics (specialization in photonics) or PhD in chemistry (specialization in materials science, solid state physics) Mastery of manufacturing and characterization techniques in inorganic materials science (including glass synthesis, PVD, SEM, EDS, AFM, profilometry, transmission and reflection, refractive index by m-Lines and ellipsometry, XPS, Raman, IR ...) Ability to perform scientific valorization: writing articles, presentations Pedagogical skills, experience in supervision (Master students, PhD student) Ability to work in a team, curiosity and scientific watch, strong interest in the proposed project and field, good interpersonal skills
