  • Main tasks : - synthesis of new white pigment particles, development of new synthesis routes - Physicochemical characterisation of the prepared pigments. - comparison with references (white pigments) in the field.

    Secondary tasks : - Familiarisation with other materials characterisation techniques present at IS2M. The candidate will be able to find additional information on the technical platforms available within the institute (www.

    The core of the project, developed jointly with an industrial partner and IS2M (UMR CNRS 7361), is based on the development and synthesis of new white pigment particles for inkjet printing. New concepts for the preparation of white pigments will be tested. The systems identified as the most efficient in these studies will be evaluated as for different practical characterisations in inkjet printing.

    The main contributions of the contract researcher will be: the development of white pigment synthesis routes, the characterisation of the synthesised pigments and their practical evaluation in conjunction with an industrial partner. This research work will also be accompanied by a detailed study and characterisation of the final properties of the pigments and inks obtained from a chemical and application point of view. All the experimental data collected will also have to be compared with current references. The recruited researcher will have to be able to work in a team, as well as to ensure exchanges with the industrial partner (e.g. participation in the writing of reports, presentations, etc.).

    This post-doctoral work will be carried out at the IS2M.

    The Mulhouse Institute of Materials Science (IS2M) is a joint CNRS- University of Haute-Alsace research unit (UMR 7361).     The contract researcher will join the CRM team within IS2M, led by Prof. Jacques Lalevée, specialised in the study of the polymerisation/photopolymerisation reaction, where all the above-mentioned experimental techniques are available.
