  • - The recruited officer will conduct the experiments of the team on the cryostat he's responsible for (principal task). This covers in particular opto-mechanical experiments that follow-up the thesis work of our PhD student. He will be fully in charge of that, under supervision from the team leader.

    - He will help with the supervision of a PhD student (secondary task). This student will develop his thesis work onto the cryostat managed by the recruited post-doc. With supervision from the team leader.

    - The post-doc will realise new samples in the clean room (potentially with help from the PhD student), in order to conduct the new experiments of the team. (secondary task).

    As such, one of the skills we look for is mastering clean room technologies, in order to realise the new NEMS-optomechanics devices. This is in addition to cryogenics and measurement.

    The recruited person will be a Post-doc in the Ultra-Low Temperature team (ULT). He/she will be responsible for one of our dilution cryostat.

    The activity takes place at the Institut Néel, Low Temperature Department, in the Ultra-Low Temperature team (ULT).

    The Institut NÉEL is a CNRS unit (UPR2940) under agreement with the University Grenoble Alpes. It is one of the largest French national research institutes for fundamental research in condensed matter physics enriched by interdisciplinary activities at the interfaces with chemistry, engineering and biology. It consists of 450 employees, including 175 researchers. It is located in Grenoble, in the heart of a unique scientific, industrial and cultural environment, right next to the French Alpes.

    Institut Néel has a technological expertise of the highest level strongly entangled with research projects, concerning e.g. cryogenics, magnetism, and micro-fabrication.

    The candidate will be located at the ULT group and will work under the responsibility of the head of the team. This group is constituted of 3 permanent staff and usually few non-permanent staff members (post-docs and students).

    Eligibility criteria

    • Mastering cryogenics. • Measurements from dc up to microwaves, and clean room fabrication. • Good theoretical knowledge in condensed matter physics.
