Offer DescriptionThe objective of this project will be to synthesize digital polymers and to study them for the construction of nano-organized multilayers. Digital polymers are synthetic macromolecules, in which binary information is stored in form of a controlled comonomer sequence. In this project, digital polymers will be deposited on a flat substrate using the well-known layer-by-layer (LbL) polyelectrolyte strategy. Polymer synthesis will be performed at ISIS Strasbourg (LCIM group) and the LbL formation of the multilayers will be studied at the Institut Charles Sadron (PECMAT group). Various types of monomers will be synthesized and the formed polymers will be characterized using different analytical tools such as mass spectrometry, NMR and HPLC. Furthermore, the post-doctoral researcher will prepare organized multilayers using manual or robotic deposition. The formed films will be characterized by ellipsometry, AFM and QCM.
