Title
Photo-Assisted Catalysis and Chemical Kinetics
Description
This PhD scholarship is funded by the strategic pool from the Office of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research), The University of Western Australia. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with the research team leader, Professor Hongqi Sun, a Clariviate highly cited researcher in chemistry (previously in engineering). This project will investigate the chemical kinetics and reaction dynamics of photo-assisted catalytic reactions for a range of applications, such as degradation, selective oxidation, and gas-phase reactions. The roles of various reaction parameters, for example, catalyst material, reaction system, temperature, atmosphere, and external fields, will be studied and illustrated. The project seeks to:(a)Explore and maximise the function of sunlight for novel catalytic reactions;(b)Identify and illustrate the role of different aspects that determines the efficiency of catalytic reactions and reaction dynamics;(c)Provide insights into mapping different photo-assisted catalytic reactions with chemical kinetics and reaction dynamics.
