Subject : Energy recovery of organic waste via gasification and combustion

This study is part of the JPR CNRS-Africa project, conducted in collaboration with Ibn Tofaïl University, in Kenitra Morocco (VALORMAC Project). The research will focus on the energy recovery from organic waste through anerobic digestion, gasification, and combustion. As part of this thesis, research will be conducted at the ICARE laboratory in Orléans with a special focus on the gasification process, their direct combustion, and the combustion of syngas. At the same time the research at Ibn Tofaïl University in Kenitra, Morocco, shall focus on biomass characterization and Anaerobic digestion.

Skills/Qualifications

To be a graduate of an engineering degree or a Master II with a strong contribution in Energy. Motivation and an aptitude for the experimental approach are essential. Combustion and/or fluid mechanics and heat transfer skills are required. Good oral and written communication skills (French and English necessary) for participating in conferences and writing in scientific journals.

Specific Requirements

General Information

Gross salary: ~ 2135€ monthly

Possibility of teaching at the University of Orleans, up to 64h per year (∼ 40€/hour)
