The Institute of Health Economics (IHE) invites applications for the position of a PhD Student (m/f/d) in health economics and/or development economics (Salary Scale 13 TV-L, 75 %) starting 15 March 2023. The position is initially limited to two years, with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities and duties

The successful candidate conducts research and engages in teaching related to health economics and/or development economics. Within the scope of the doctoral project, several empirical studies will be implemented, particularly large-scale randomized field experiments in the context of investment projects of international organizations such as the World Bank.

Employment conditions

Candidates must have completed a scientific university degree (Diploma/Master) in Economics or a related discipline and proficiency in English. A strong Master's thesis is expected that documents advanced capabilities to apply empirical economic methods and use statistical software packages such as Stata, R, and Python. Excellent candidates have a research focus in health economics and/or development economics. Outstanding social, personal, and communication skills are expected.
