At the Helmholtz Institute Freiberg for Resource Technology (HIF), innovative technologies for the circulareconomy are developed to provide and use mineral and metal-bearing rawmaterials more efficiently and to recycle them in an environmentally friendly way.
The Department of Exploration is looking for a PhD Student (f/m/d) Mineral Exploration.
Your tasks:Research will be an integral part of a German-South African doctoral school that will develop and apply innovative exploration techniques and link these to a novel concept of predictive geometallurgical modelling with the goal to quantitatively assess the impact (in the context of ESGs) of mining and beneficiation of mineral resources already during the exploration stage. The joint research will thus be centered on the need for novel approaches and technologies for mineral exploration and new approaches to geometallurgy in orebody modelling and resource utilization. Multimodal remote sensing techniques will be key aspects of the exploration.
