At the Helmholtz Institute Freiberg for Resource Technology (HIF), innovative technologies for the circulareconomy are developed to provide and use mineral and metal-bearing rawmaterials more efficiently and to recycle them in an environmentally friendly way.
As part of the Institute, the Department of Analytics invites applications as PhD student (f/m/d) in the project "FINEST".
The position will be available from 1 April 2023. The employment contract is limited to three years.
Your tasks:You will be responsible for developing and evaluating the pyrometallurgical segment of a complex process chain aimed at the fullest possible utilization or stabilization of blended fine-grained wastes. The work will be carried out in close interaction with the other PhD students and scientists (f/m/d) working on the project, within the framework of the "FINEST Research School".

Good knowledge of the thermodynamics of metallurgical systems and processes
