The Opportunity
The cell therapy industry is currently going through a rapid growth phase, with many startups involved in developing full-scale manufacturing facilities and establishing formal systems and procedures for high volume production. They are also establishing close partnerships with other members of their supply chains with the aim to provide greater benefits for all stakeholders.
Developing and using appropriate business models as businesses scale up and expand in the cell therapy industry is a challenging task for managers that requires further research. This PhD project, working with relevant industry partners, will examine how new business models and value propositions are being developed and implemented by firms in the cell therapy industry as cell therapy manufacturing and other organizations involved in the supply chain scale up and expand. The context of this study will be the Australian cell therapy industry.
The ARC Training Centre for Cell & Tissue Engineering Technologies (ARC CTET) is a new Research Centre led by Monash University and QUT in collaboration with 22 industry partner organisations.
