The jobPhD Researcher (f/m/x) in Environmental Law
in the Frame of the „Kompetenznetz Zukunftsherausforderungen des Umweltrechts“ KomUR (Network of Competence on Future Challenges of Environmental Law) The Department of Environmental and Planning Law at UFZ analyses the legal barriers and drivers of environmental sustainability in an interdisciplinary and practice oriented research context.
As of April 2023, the Department is coordinating partner of the abovementioned Network project (KomUR) that is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF). This project aims to enhance networking of German environmental law research within the country and, in particular, in the European and international community. KomUR includes, i.a., 13 PhD- positions at six German Universities as well as diverse networking activities. Within the frame of this project the Department for Environmental & Planning Law is now offering two positions for a PhD Researcher in part-time (65%), TVÖD 13, limited to 3 years.
Your tasksThese positions focus on the preparation of a legal dissertation within the thematic scope of the KomUR and the Department, and preferably on one the following fields and topics:
Law in Sustainability Transformation
Sustainable urban development
Sustainable Water Management
Future Energy Landscapes
Agriculture Transformation
We kindly ask applicants to explain their preferences, and we also admit proposals of other topics within the above thematic fields. The PhD researchers will be embedded in a comprehensive networking programme including annual doctoral meetings, international networking workshops, research visits and active participation in international conferences. The Dissertations must be accepted by a German environmental law chair and prepared in accordance with the requirements of the relevant faculty. Key results of the research shall be published with one or two articles in English language.
