We are looking for a PhD programme coordinator (Maternity cover) to support our PhD-programs at the Biotech Research and Innovation Centre (BRIC). We are looking for an employee with at least master's level education, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with many different parties. The position is for 12 months and will be an excellent stepping-stone if you wish to take on a career in EU project management, administration of educational programmes at the university level and alike.
THE CENTRE BRIC is a research centre of excellence, focusing on disease-oriented biomedical research and is part of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. We host 21 independent research groups aiming to understand diseases like cancer, neurological and metabolic disorders. We strive to create world-class research training and have a national PhD- programme as well as several international PhD-programs. THE STRATEGIC RESEARCH SUPPORT OFFICE You will be part of BRIC's strategic research support office, which together with the administration consists of approx. 20 people who jointly solve practical, administrative, and strategic tasks related to BRIC's overall strategy. We are a diverse team with an informal and open team environment. We currently count five members plus the head of office. On a daily basis, we work in three sub-teams: Communication, pre-award grant support and PhD programmes.
YOUR JOB You will work both independently with own responsibility areas and as part of the whole team to solve cross-going activities. Especially, you will work closely with the other PhD programme manager. Your primary responsibilities will include:
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCES We are looking for an employee with a relevant academic education at master's level and preferably experience from a university environment. In addition, you:
• have good communication skills, both orally and in writing • have a good organizational understanding • possess the ability to interact with many different stakeholders, including international PhD students, PhD supervisors and the PhD school under the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences • preferably have experience with project management and coordination of administrative processes • have skills in Office 365 and willingness to learn new systems, e.g., our web CMS • are fluent in English, both written and spoken, as it is our daily working language • have an interest in contributing positively to the collegial community
Finally, it is crucial for your success in the position that you are proactive and can work independently as well as in collaborations.
SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT The position is fixed term for a duration of 1 year (maternity cover), with employment preferably from 15 May 2023. Employment takes place as an academic officer or academic employee (fuldmægtig/akademisk medarbejder) dependent on experience and qualifications) on a full-time basis (37 hours) according to the applicable collective agreement.
